60 Days of Summer- Feature Photo
Castle in the Rain
Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture
Fukuyama Castle is a fixture of the city, which is constantly featured in art, photographs and promotional videos. As one of the few castles located near a central train station, it is often viewed from the front, as it is the side which faces the station. However, as Akilah walked around the rear grounds of the castle, she discovered a beautiful Japanese style garden, seemingly hidden away behind the castle. It was from this perspective, that she took a photo of the castle. Though it was a rainy day, she decided to include a photo of the castle in the rain, since rain is such an integral part of the beginning of the Japanese summer.
- The Feature Photo section showcases photos by JETs that represent the best that Hiroshima has to offer, or occasionally other prefectures. If you would like to submit a photo, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and tell us why you think your photo should be chosen.
