Video: Dazzling Hanami in Senkoji, Onomichi

by Greg Kikkawa

Behind every video is a story. This video was shot at the hanami party in Senkoji, Onomichi in April 2011. Hanami is a beautiful time in Japan when people get together to eat, drink, and gaze at the natural beauty of the newly-bloomed cherry blossoms. Nature, itself, is a beautiful thing, but to truly enjoy hanami you need to be with friends. To me, that is the essence of hanami, a time where people can finally venture outside in the warm weather after the gray winter, and enjoy each others’ company in a world of emerging color.
