Feature Photo 7/10/10

“Untitled”

By Courtney Coppernoll, first-year JET from Hiroshima-ken.

This photo was taken in Mitarai, Yutaka-machi (Hiroshima-ken) last November. I was exploring the town shortly after I arrived in Japan and loved the way the stone torii framed the sea and islands behind it.

What happened to the flickr group?

Hey Stephen. We still occasionally feature photos from the Flickr group (the last one was one of your shots of some cherry blossoms earlier this spring, I think, or possibly one of your shots of the Kobe skyline at night). But we’ve been posting up others as well since the number of people posting to the Flickr group is so low. And at least for right now some of the pictures are just random since the new editor is posting things trying to learn how it all works. If you’ve got some photos you’d like to post up though, please send us links or an email!! :)

Gotta love the inland sea. The bridges are such a beautiful scene to see from on top of a bike.
